Job Description

My role includes taking the feeds that farmers grow, and using this information to create diets for both the milking cows, young cows and pregnant cows that are on farm. I balance their diets to ensure they are receiving all of the nutrients they need to perform optimally. I also work with farmers to troubleshoot problems on farm, ensure cows are in proper shape and help with major changes on the farm. A dairy cow is like an elite athlete, and I work to ensure that they get the proper nutrients they need to perform at their best.

Career Story

I studied at the University of Guelph, completing my Bachelor of Science with a major in Animal Biology and a minor in Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences and then I completed my Master of Science in Animal Nutrition with a focus on dairy cattle/calves.
