I am a member of the Board of Directors of two public companies. Individuals can own shares of public companies that can be bought or sold on the stock market. The Board of Directors oversees the strategic direction and managment of the Company. They are the ultimate "boss" with a mandate to ensure that the Company's value is maximized and that shareholders are treated fairly.

Career Story
I received a Bachelor of Laws degree from Western University and a Masters of Law degree from University College London in London England. I practiced business law for 8 years as an articling student, associate and ultimately a partner at the Toronto firm now known as Gowlings. I was recruited to an executive position at Magna Interntation, one of the largest automotive manufacturing companies in the world, where I worked for five years. I left Magna with 4 other executives to start our own automotive manufacturing business, Triam Automotive. We took Triam public, ran it for several years and then sold it to Magna. With my business partners, I started doing venture capital funding for small businesses. Most recently, I held a number of executive positions including Chairman and CEO at Nuvo Pharmaceuticals, a Canadian public pharmaceutical company. I recently retired from anexecutive role and now sit on 2 public company's board of directors. I am also the Chair of the Advisory Board of the John F. Wood Center which is the entrepreneurial arm of the Lang School of Business at the University of Guelph.
