Career Story
I was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. When I was younger, I thought I wanted to be a teacher. I had a strong desire to help people. My first job was in high School. I worked at Tim Hortons and loved the feeling of independence that came with making my own money for the first time. In this position at Tim Hortons I won numerous awards for hospitality and customer service. From there I did co-ops with the Barrie Police Station and The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. These opportunities gave me the experience of a professional working environment, which I had yet to experience prior. I loved watching people do work that made a difference in people’s lives. I craved the passion that these professionals had for their work.
After High School, I worked in jewelry sales. I absolutely loved it. I loved selling and talking to people. I won sales awards at 18, 19 and 20 years old and was a shining star to the company. To this day I miss standing in that store helping people find the perfect ring to propose to their partner with. When I was in this position, I began obtaining my Degree in Social Work. I thought a career in Social Work would be perfect for my desire to work in a professional environment where I could make a true difference in people’s lives. In my second year of university, I got my first job in Real Estate doing administration. This was the hardest job I ever had, but I began growing a true passion for the industry and felt as though I could be an excellent realtor. I knew I wanted to continue with my degree, so I changed my path to a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and began my courses to become a realtor. During my education I continued working in Real Estate Admin.
I Graduated University in 2017 and continued to work towards my real estate license. During this time, I was offered a position as a Behavioral Therapist for children with autism and I took the opportunity to explore that career option for myself while still working as an administrator with a real estate team until I completed my real estate license. When I had finally completed my Real Estate License, I had to choose between the two career options that I had set myself up for and knew that I had found my true calling in life in the Real Estate Industry. I became a full-time Realtor and left my positions as a Behavioral therapist and a Real Estate Administer.
My real estate career was going great in Barrie, however in 2020 my husband got relocated to Kitchener for work. We moved and I started rebuilding my real estate business in Kitchener/Waterloo. I did this by really diving into the community. I joined sports leagues, the chamber of commerce, and began volunteering. Almost two years later I am maintaining a strong real estate business in the Region of Waterloo. My goal is to keep the ‘Real’ in ‘Real Estate’, I truly care about people, and I work hard for anyone who puts their trust in me. When I was younger, I knew I wanted to help people, at the time I didn’t think that it would lead to being a Realtor, but I am so glad it did. I get to help people navigate the biggest and most emotional purchase and sale of their lives.
