Career Story
In high school, I did a co-op placement with a massage therapy clinic and that is what I wanted to go to school to learn. I was convinced that it would be a good idea to have a kinesiology degree as a backup. I attended Brock University and earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree.
Throughout high school, university and many years after university, I coached gymnastics. After graduating university I worked as a physiotherapy assistant in retirement homes and long term care homes. Here I worked under a physiotherapist providing residents with physio treatments. In 2014, I became a regulated Kinesiologist and becoming a member of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. From there, I worked with a few other Kinesiologists. In this position, we worked together seeing clients in their homes for exercise therapy. Most of the clients that we saw were either seniors or had suffered a stroke or other neurological disease or damage.
During this time, I also started my own company providing Fascial Stretch Therapy services as well as senior wellness and stroke rehab. In 2019, the company I was working for dissolved, and I took on all those clients under my company. I now provide in-home Kinesiology services to seniors and those who have neurological disorders, I provide Fascial Stretch Therapy as well.
