Job Description

Working with seniors is a rewarding job, full of many different opportunities where you can contribute and also spend time with seniors to listen and learn from their lifetime of experiences.

In my role, I am responsible to ensure we provide all of our residents with the most that life has to offer and allow them to live life to the fullest. That means I get to help think about how we can host special food celebrations, different recreation activities, trips to fun places, and how we can connect students and seniors so they can learn, share experiences and create memories together.

Career Story

I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare from a young age. I went to University of Guelph for BioMedical science to help me better understand the larger healthcare landscape.

However, after 4 years of studying I needed a break and instead went to work for an airline as a flight attendant! I travelled the world and met many wonderful people. It was this experience that lead me to realize my love for healthcare could be combined with my love for helping people.

I spent over a decade supporting medical assessments and working my way up from a sales consultant to a Senior Vice President, while also going through 3 different acquisitions and finally a sale of the company.

I then spent several years in laboratory medicine until a personal experience with seniors care changed my view about the Long Term Care system and I wanted to make a difference in this space.

I landed a Regional Director role in Long Term Care and then have moved up through 2 different Vice President opportunities to oversee operations. My current position now encompasses strategy and organization emergency response operations due to the pandemic.
