Explore Your Future is a series of FREE events to help Waterloo Region youth learn about some career options. While geared towards the early stage research needs of grade 7 to 10 students, it is open to any youth and family that are interested .

Note: This event takes place over Zoom. A link will be sent out to registered attendees about 5:30 p.m. on the day of the event.

Careers in Science

Are you enjoying your science classes at school? Do you wonder what kind of job you could get if you pursue a post-secondary education in science?

There are many jobs that require scientific knowledge. Jobs such as those in engineering, medical technology, regulatory affairs and more.

Our panel features a range of people who put their science education to work every day. Learn more about exactly what they do now and how their career journey brought them to this point. You can expect great advice for future scientists!

OUR PANEL

Julianna Arcese, Project Engineer

As a project engineer for the IBI Group, I design the pipes that are built underneath the road. The pipes that bring the water to your home and the pipes that collect the water from the rain, your sinks and toilets!

Samson Ling, President of Clarion Medical Technologies

I lead a Canadian company that manufactures and distributes products and equipment for medical and healthcare practitioners across the country to improve their patients' quality of life.

Julia Lupton, Laboratory Technician

I'm a lab technician that works on antibody sequencing at Rapid Novor. I went to the University of Guelph where I studied biochemistry. I honestly didn't pick this program for any other reason than that I liked biology and chemistry and wanted to do something within the science field. 

Kyley Paul, CEO of NaturalSciRegulatory Consulting Corp

I am a business owner who manages 6 other full time employees. My company acts as the representative of a natural product brand (vitamin, sport nutrition supplement, natural cosmetic, veterinary pet supplement, natural cleaner, cannabis company).

Agenda

Each panelist will have 5 minutes to describe what they do and their career journey.

Then you get a chance to ask them questions about their jobs, the steps they took towards their goals and the career decisions they made along the way.
